BOS

Privacy policy

Last updated 20 October 2026

BOS is a desktop app for your Mac and a companion app for iPhone. It is built so that your conversations stay between your devices, the people you choose to share rooms with, and the AI providers you connect yourself.

What we collect

Almost nothing. We do not run accounts, crash reporting, advertising or tracking in BOS, and the apps contain no third-party SDKs. We never receive your messages, files, prompts, contacts, names, email addresses or file paths.

From version 1.9.3 the desktop app sends one small anonymous count to bos.aihlete.com when it first runs and at most once a day after that, so we know how many people use BOS. It contains exactly: a random install ID made on your Mac (not tied to you or your device), the app version, your operating system and chip type, which AI command-line tools are installed (names only, such as "claude" or "codex"), and how many bots and rooms you have, plus the most people and bots in any one room. Our server adds the country your request came from and does not store your IP address. Turn it off in Settings with "Share anonymous usage counts", or set BOS_NO_PING=1. The iPhone and Android apps send nothing.

Where your data goes

This website

Apart from the usage count above, the BOS apps collect nothing. This website, bosbot.my, is separate: it uses the Meta Pixel to measure how our ads perform. When you visit, Meta may receive standard browser information (such as your IP address, browser type, the page you visited and whether you clicked download), which Meta may link to your Meta account under its own privacy policy. You can control this in your Meta ad preferences or by blocking third-party tracking in your browser.

Storage and deletion

Your data lives on your Mac, in the BOS folder in your home directory, and pairing details live in your iPhone's Keychain. Unpairing the phone revokes its access. Deleting the app and that folder removes everything BOS stored.

Children

BOS is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
