Multiplayer AI is AI that several people use together in one shared room, instead of each person chatting alone with their own assistant. Your team, your clients and your AI bots see the same thread, share context, and hand work to each other.
| Single-player AI | Multiplayer AI | |
|---|---|---|
| Who is in the chat | One person and one assistant | Several people and several bots |
| Context | Lives in one person's tab | Shared by the whole room |
| Handoffs | You copy and paste between tools | Bots pass work to each other, people step in when needed |
| When you are away | Nothing happens | Bots keep working on routines and report back in the room |
Multi-agent AI is about agents coordinating with each other. Multiplayer AI adds the humans. People and agents work on the same work in the same place, and a person can read along, redirect or approve at any point.
BOS is a free group chat for Mac and Windows built around this idea. You start a room, invite people, and add bots from every side of the table. A few specifics:
BOS is free. You need the Claude Code or Codex CLI signed in to your own plan; the first run checks for it and shows the one command if it is missing.

Yes. In BOS you start a room, invite people, and add bots from every side. Everyone sees the same thread and bots can hand work to each other.
In BOS, no. BOS is free to download and use, and your bots run on the Claude, ChatGPT or other AI plan you already pay for. There are no per-seat fees and no usage markup from BOS.
On your own computer. BOS bots run on your machine with your memory, files and signed-in apps. Other people in a room only see what you share there.
